K-Store has spent the last year working with customers in the warehouse and improving the automated picking system. The module allows orders to be split and picked easily by the order parts being sent directly to the pickers scanners. To view the picking system page on K-Store website.
One of the key features is the pick routing, which enables the route around the warehouse to be automatically configured to maximise efficiency. This means that the pickers spend less time walking around the warehouse and more time picking the parts for the orders. K-Store have worked on this side of the software to make it so the routing can be easily configured.
Other areas of note are the manual override which means that pickers can choose other items to pick but this is logged so that later on analysis can be performed. This means that if there is a situation where it makes more sense to pick an item, the system is not stuck.
The focus of having all the information logged is that it allows tractability throughout the system. This is a key feature that allows the system to have an historical log of all events giving the ability to find out any problems or look for patterns in production. Also, staff performance and other metrics are available.
With these and more improvements in the K-Store software we are confident that it will become a key player in the warehouse software market.
Looks like an advanced piece of kit. Will have to check it out, also does the picking module come within the core bit of software?
Yes, it can be built in with the companies requirements. As any of the modules on the software can. Thanks for your comment.
